November 2024
Brian & Krista Rach – Azerbaijani
We want to express our deep gratitude for your partnership. We couldn’t do this with our your love and support. We are humbled that you would choose to share this journey with us. God is moving and answering your prayers. Thank you for investing in our dear Azerbaijani friends.
Brian started with a teacher who is a new believer. It’s a great opportunity because he gets to read Bible stories and learn very useful vocabulary in Azerbaijani. I
(Krista) also started reading Bible stories with my teacher, Kiara, who isn’t a believer. I had read the Bible with Sadeget, our nanny, and left it out on the table. The next week, Kiara asked if I wanted to keep reading those stories for class. She offered, of course I said yes. When I’ve explained the stories to Kiara, I could feel God’s presence in the room. I am grateful I get to plant seeds of truth in her heart.
Prayer Requests
- For our friends to follow Jesus (Kiara, Rose, Nancy, Adam, Kyle, Mikal, Aiden, Evan)
- New house church groups
- Favor in our friendships
Laurie & Jeff Atz – Chi Alpha Fort Wayne
We kicked off August with our leaders training retreat! We emphasized the importance of working hard to connect with students, as though it depends on us, but praying like it depends on God.
We collaborated with Greater Fort Wayne Campus Ministry, InterVarsity, FCA and other campus ministries for a day-long prayer event. We sought God’s guidance & covering for the campuses of Fort Wayne, lifting up the needs of students and faculty on the PFW campus.
We wrapped up September at Fall Breakaway, taking 12 students on a transformative retreat. One student made the decision to follow Jesus. We are so grateful for the ways God is working through our team and students. Your continued prayers and support is valuable and very important to us!
Prayer Requests
- For the freshmen and new students who are joining Chi Alpha. Pray they find genuine community and grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus.
- For our small group leaders as they continue building relationships. Ask God to guide them as they lead discussions and navigate conversations about faith in Jesus.
- The students who recently made decisions for Christ, including the one from Fall Breakaway. Pray for guidance and protection as they begin their walk with the Lord.
- For strength, wisdom, and balance as we navigate our busy schedule while still making time to nurture our family relationships.
Wayne & Drue Huffman – South Asia
We have just returned from ministry in 6 south East Asian countries. Because of your investment in our lives we made wonderful connections with a great group of missionaries who are laboring to make Him known. We shared stories of faith, gave encouragement, laughed together, cried together and carried their burdens and concerns to the Lord in prayer.
Because of your partnership, we are able to see younger generations of missionaries, who are called by God, remain strong, healthy and faithful until the work is done. Thank you for your generosity in giving and praying! Together we are making a difference.
Our next pastoral care visit will be to Rwanda in central Africa. We will be ministering to 6 incredible missionary families. Pray for the Lord to give us wisdom as we pour into this great group of servants of our Lord.
Jason & Serena Kohler – East Africa
When we came to the U.S. at the end of April, we had three objectives that needed to be accomplished before we could head out to Egypt: One, Serena had to complete the process of joining Jason’s sending agency, the Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM). Two, Serena was going through the process of becoming a U.S. citizen. Three, we needed to raise a new budget, as we were now a family of three.
Well, we are making progress! Just last week, Serena passed the interview and is now officially a part of AGWM! Serena has her citizenship interview scheduled for November 5. She will need to pass a civics and English language test. Pray for her as she is a little nervous about the civics exam, which honestly contains a lot of questions many Americans probably do not know (e.g. Do you know what year the constitution was written? Serena now does) The Lord has raised 91% of our monthly financial budget. We are hoping to be on the field by the end of the year. Will you please pray for the remaining amount to come in by then? At this point, our greatest need is recurring/monthly gifts. God is faithful!
